We had the pleasure of an interview with a lovely CD woman from Czech Republic, check out Vesna Prague!
BTG. Tell us a bit about yourself, who is Vesna?
Who is Vesna? The answer to this is very simple. Vesna is a femme fatale and I think she is very proud of her beautiful legs. She is shy and intelligent. A tastefully dressed lady with smiling eyes. Vesna allows me occasionally to escape into a female world where some of my dreams can become reality if I have the courage to pursue them. She is my female alter ego.
And who am I? I am David. I am 38 years old and I live in Prague. Prague is the equal of Paris in terms of beauty. It is regarded by many as one of Europe’s most charming, colorful and beautiful cities.
I am not an artist. I am not a successful businessman. I am not an occasional escort “girl”. I am not a transvestic fetishist. I am a state employee specialized in firearms law.
I was born under the sign of Gemini. Gemini people have a vivacious and restless nature. I am naturally curious about practically everything and I love when I find someone that is on my wavelength.
BTG. How did you started?
I know I started at the age of 6 or so, though the memory of that is fuzzy at best. But it really started right around the cusp of puberty. Sometimes I would catch myself asking “what would it be like to dress like a girl?”. When I was the only person in the house I tried on one of my mother’s dresses. Generally speaking, puberty can be one of the most difficult times in life – for people like me and some transgender or gender – nonconforming people (risk of anxiety / depression etc.). For 15 years, this boy to girl transformation was my secret hobby. I started to publish my photos online in 2006. To be honest, my first photos were really horrible!
BTG. Where did you get the inspiration for your name?
For the Slavs (we – the Czech people – are a West Slavic ethnic group) Vesna was the goddess of spring, and was associated with youth.Vesna was a very popular goddess among people because she replaced winter and death. As spring symbolized the beginning of a beautiful season, when it bloomed, the nature awoke, all was reborn and renewed life, Vesna had her role as a goddess of youth. This word is still the poetic word for “spring” in my language.
BTG. Can you tell us about your first time crossdressing in public?
If you want to hear my confession – I am a little coward. Why? I would like to walk down the street in the finest Italian high heels (without killing myself…). But I think I am not completely (emotionally / physically) ready for crossdressing in regular public places just yet. I really admire all girls who do not care how believable they look or if they can “pass”. In this online world, it is easier for me to present both masculine side and feminine side of my personality.
As already mentioned, I am not brave and strong like Wonder Woman or Captain America – but It is always fun for me to cooperate with Elli Hunter. Elli is a well known make-up artist / photographer / owner of professional transformation studio based in Sontheim / Germany Bavaria. I visited Elli for the first time in September 2014 and it was a wonderful experience. She does a great job listening to what you want. I would highly recommend Elli and her transformation studio for anyone who wants to look fabulous.
BTG. What is cross-dressing to you?
For me, crossdressing is not a sexual issue. It helps me to demolish some of my stereotypes about who women / men are and what their roles should be in society. How do I consider myself? To be honest, I am often confused about my feelings and I do not quite know what they are or what they mean. Perhaps I am transgendered, and subconsciously want to be a woman? I think I am unable to give you a clear answer.
BTG. Can you tell us about your personal relationships and crossdressing?
It is necessary to mention that I am an introverted person. Being introvert is NOT weird. I have strong communication skills and good listening skills. I am able to hold intelligent conversations and I have so many ideas to offer. But it is very complicated for me to build personal relationships in the real world. I am still single but I really hope one day I will marry some beautiful and popular South Korean actress (I love South Korean movies!!!!!!).
In my family, my mom knows everything about “Vesna”. My brother knows nothing about my female side – and I think it is not necessary that he has this information.
As regards my male side, I have no problem to present photos of David together with photos of Vesna. In my case, no special type of courage is needed.
BTG. What advice would you give to a younger CD that has never tried a makeover service and has not developed his female identity yet?
Do not be afraid to surpass your own limitations and discover your own female side (step by step). I know it is not easy to overcome our self-doubts. The doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we might win, by fearing to attempt. One of the best things you can do to boost your self-confidence: Visit a professional and respected makeover service! In my opinion, it is the most effective way to find inner peace and balance.
BTG. Can you tell us about how is the local CD/TS scene in your country? and have you tried to connect with other CD sisters, groups or meetup?
For CD / TS people, Prague serves as a bridge between the East and the West. There are several clubs and bars which welcome CD / TS individuals. What I miss here in Prague is a professional dressing and makeup service / professional photography studio aimed at the CD / TS community. I have a few of online CD / TS friends (especially from the Czech Republic or Germany) and it is fun for me to discuss with them. At this moment, I am not a member of any real organized CD / TS group.
BTG. What are your favorite websites, blogs, people about the CD or TS World?
It is very easy to answer this question. I love your Boy to Girl website! I love beautiful photos and interesting interviews presented here. I would like to say a big “Thank you” to BTG team for the excellent work.
There is a lot of beautiful and elegant CD / TS girls but I think that Emma Ballantyne and Siobhan Coughlan are my biggest inspirations.
BTG: What would you like to see in the future for Vesna?
What is my biggest wish for the future? I would like to give more place to my dreams than my fears. I would like to bring these dreams into physical reality. When we deny our dreams, we deny our destiny.
I know it may sound ridiculous, and it is, but I would like to work as an occasional model (working unpaid). I would like to work with a good fashion photographer. It would be great to work as an alternative model – model who does not conform to the industry “standards”. I know that it is not very probable that this wish will become reality. I am too old for this and I am not a typical example of an exquisite beauty.
I would like to increase my social circle / the amount of interesting CD / TS friends in my real life (dear readers, if you are interested in contacting me, please send me a message here ).
In the future, I would like to be seen by others as an elegant woman (graceful, stylish in appearance and having good manners.
BTG: Wow, thank you so much for this interview Vesna and good luck for your future career of model! you can connect with her on her official Flickr page which has over 17million views!
